September Update

What I’ve Been Reading

Colin Wright’s Some Thoughts About Relationships. Trust me, with no dedication to a social life, I really need this help.

Meditations – Marcus Aurelius. Basically I wanted to read something I never would have considered before.

On my to-do list is the prologue and first chapter of a book my dad wrote several years ago. Not only will it help my writing, I think I may have convinced him to participate in NaNoWriMo with me!

What I’ve Been Listening To

SO MANY NEW SONGS. Just to name a few of the top favorites: False Confidence – Noah Kahan. Ready to Go Again – Bronze Radio Return. Medicine – Robinson. “99” – Barns Courtney. Superposition – Young the Giant.

What I’ve Been Writing

Well, I finished the rewrite and (somehow) pulled myself away from the book for a bit. I’ve sent the draft to my best friends, parents, and one of my players. I’m hoping to get some good feedback and fix any issues they have. This rewrite has all of the music tied into the scenes so I’m looking forward to hearing how that plays out for my readers. It was something that I thought was unique and super personal so I hope they enjoy it as much as I did. Plus it gave me an excuse to dig through my music over and over again.

Two papers, five reports, and a lot of notebook writing took place this month. I used up a pen (so sad) and started to hash out some of the scenes for my second book (I’m going to be a plantser for NaNo) all in one notebook. It’s a good thing I bought a new pack of pens because my ideas keep evolving! Let me tell you, I am so excited for November.
